Questions

I need my license, what course do I need to take?

You need to take the Basic Rider Course (BRC) if your experience is from little to none and you have not ridden consistently over the last year or more.

You need the 3 Wheel Basic Rider Course (3WBRC) if you are only wanting a license for the 3 wheel variety. This endorsement comes with a restriction to only ride a 3 wheeled bike.

You may need only to take the Intermediate Rider Course (IRC) if you have been consistently riding on a street motorcycle for years and have pretty much mastered the basic skills already. There is a skill evaluation that must be passed in order to continue on with the course.

Where are the courses located?

We have multiple locations: Lewisville, Mesquite, and Fort Worth.

What is the Basic Rider Course?

There is a pre-course assignment called an eCourse that is required to be completed before the beginning of class. It is about 3 hrs of online videos and questions. The first day is approximately 4 hrs in the classroom followed by 4 hrs at the range. The second day is spent only at the range.

What if I do not pass/finish my course?

Most people that take the class are successful the first time aroundBut sometimes, individuals are unable to successfully complete the class.  If it is determined by the RiderCoach that you are a danger to yourself or others, you will be dismissed from the course.  You may also be dismissed if your lack of progress impedes or interferes with the class.  Please be aware that the course is strenuous and physically demanding and you may be dismissed if your condition adversely affects your performance.

Should you fail the written or skills test, the RiderCoach has the discretion as to whether you can retest or not.  If it is determined that you are a danger to yourself or others, you will NOT be permitted to retest.  If you are not eligible to retest, you will be asked to contact the office during normal business hours for the next steps.  Some people just need some remedial training, others may need to take the entire course again.  Cost will vary based on what is needed.  Hint: if you are nice to us, we will be nice to you!  We want happy, safe motorcyclists.
